Excursion

The excursion of the PR'19 conference will take plave in the afternoon of Thursday June 20 and will be dedicated principally to the nature of the Vosges mountains. After a short boat trip on Lake Gérardmer participants will visit a botanic garden displaying mountain flora from the Vosges mountains and from mountain ranges around the world. Finally, there will be an easy hike in the region Hohneck on the water divide between the Lorraine and Alsace regions. The hike is about 2.5 km long with an elevation gain of about 130 m. Participants being unable to walk this distance will be transported to the end point where a small refreshment is foreseen. We recommend to take along good walking shoes adapted to an easy mountain hike. The botanic garden and the hike will be at nearly 1300 meters elevation where, depending on the weather, one may encounter cool (and eventually quite windy) conditions. We therefore recommend to foresee warm clothes in your package. In case of (really) bad weather an alternative program is foreseen.
