Participants needing a visa to enter France or the Schengen Area and requiring a letter of support should contact the organizers well in advance.

Airports

The closest international airports to Gérardmer are the Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg EuroAirport and the Strasbourg Airport. Both are at about 1h30 drive from Gérardmer. Participants may also use the Charles De Gaulle International Airport in Paris, the Luxembourg International Airport or the Frankfurt International Airport and proceed by public transportation or by rental car.

By car

Gérardmer is easily reachable by car in less than 2 hours from Nancy, Metz, Strasbourg, Freiburg in Breisgau or Basel.

Public transportation

Public transportation from Paris is available by train (fast connection by TGV to Épinal or Remiremont or TGV to Nancy and then local train) and public bus connection between Épinal (line 29) or Remiremont (line 1B) and Gérardmer. The total traveling time from Paris-Est train station to Remiremont is roughly 3 1/2 hours. In alternative train or bus connection are available from Strasbourg main station and the Alsace region via Saint Dié des Vosges followed by a local bus (line 17) to Gérardmer.
